Family/ Community Engagement

The school is part of the larger community. Links between the school and the larger local community enhance both the quality of life and learning experienced by both communities. The school fosters close relationships between itself, the pupils’ homes, and the local community.

  • Families being part of our school life is very important to us. Below, you can see an image of families joining us for our vision and values workshop.
  • We welcome parents into our school regularly for our end of Concept learning ‘Fabulous Finishes’ events.
  • The School Council organise events for pupils to support charities; local, national and international.
  • Pupils enter competitions run by the local community.
  • School fêtes are open to the community.
  • Local churches and chapels are involved in school assemblies.
  • We hold community concerts and we invite many local community members to celebrate with us.
  • We have close links with our local Residential home who regularly join us for concerts and events. Below you can see an image of the pupils visiting the Residential Home.
  • Pupils regularly visit the locality for geographical, historical and scientific studies.
  • The school supports local community group by performing at a number of events throughout the year and example is shown below of pupils singing in the local library group.
  • We regularly hold parent/carer workshops such as ‘Tiny Talkers’ or ‘Supporting Emotional Regulation’.
